natural logarithm

Terms from Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms

The natural logarithm is a logarithm using e (Euler's number ~ 2.72) as base, it is often denoted "ln". That is ln(x) is the natural logarithm of x, and x = eln(x). Other common logarithm bases are 2 and 10, which are easier to interpret. However natural logairithms occur in many mathematical and physical processes.
